Press Release
The Fire Knight is proud to announce a landmark distribution partnership with NDIS Property Australia, a leading advisory firm in Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). As part of this agreement, The Fire Knight’s flagship fire suppression unit, The Protector, will now be offered as a critical safety feature for all those who want fire safety in NDIS housing (built already, or to be built in the future), either for SIL or SDA homes.
This partnership reflects a growing awareness and importance that the vast majority of SIL and SDA homes for NDIS participants across Australia lack any form of fire sprinkler protection. By bringing The Protector to market, we aim to foster collaboration and understanding among landlords, providers, developers, builders, building certifiers, and families, creating a unified support for an additional proactive layer of fire safety for vulnerable NDIS participants.
For the thousands of SDA properties already built without fire safety, The Protector offers a simple, retrofit-ready solution that enhances peace of mind. And for future developments, its inclusion is a bold step forward in redefining what safe, accessible housing should look like. This demonstrates the investor’s commitment to safety and innovation but also serves as a call to action, encouraging greater awareness across the NDIS sector and beyond. Together, we’re creating a safer future, one home at a time.
“The Protector brings a new level of safety to our homes,” said a spokesperson for the builder. “While sprinkler systems provide broad protection, The Protector offers precise, intelligent response capabilities that activate automatically, giving residents and carers crucial time in an emergency. We believe this system will save lives.”
Unlike conventional systems that rely on extensive fire growth before activating, The Protector is engineered to detect the early signs of a fire and respond immediately, often extinguishing the threat before it can spread. Whether caused by electrical faults, unattended heat sources, or other common hazards, The Protector offers reliable, real-time intervention with no need for human input.
Why The Protector Is a Game-Changer for Assisted Living:
-
Fully Automated, Always Ready:
-
The system detects fire conditions and deploys a non-toxic suppressant in seconds, without requiring human response or triggering excessive water damage.
-
Broad-Spectrum Protection: Effective against a wide range of residential fire types, the Protector is a versatile solution for environments where safety is paramount.
-
Reduced Risk, Reduced Damage: By neutralising fires at their source, the Protector dramatically lowers the risk of injury, death, and property loss.
-
Purpose-Built for Vulnerable Occupants: Ideal for NDIS and aged care housing, the unit protects residents who may be unable to respond quickly or evacuate on their own.
-
Discreet and Low Maintenance: Compact, quiet, and easy to install, the Protector integrates seamlessly into any living space with minimal upkeep required.
Richelle Sinclair (TFK CEO) says the agreement marks a major step forward for residential fire safety in Australia.
“This partnership goes beyond product supply — it’s about changing how we think about protecting human life,” said Richelle, “The Protector represents the next generation of home fire safety, and this agreement confirms its vital role in the future of NDIS and supported living.”
Debbie Kindness, General Manager of NDIS Property Australia, says it was a pleasure recording a Podcast Interview on The SDA Housing Podcast with TFK Founder Bill Kavvadas, which has been shared widely amongst Investors, Builders and NDIS Providers, spreading awareness of the importance of fire safety.
Initial installations will commence in the coming quarter, with a broader rollout planned throughout the year. As the demand for high-standard safety in disability and aged care housing continues to grow, TFK and its builder partners are setting a bold new benchmark for fire prevention across the country.
